We approach counseling as a collaborative process between client and counselor. We believe that all people have strengths, knowledge, and abilities which they can utilize to solve problems and create the life they want for themselves and their families. As counselors, we see our role as helping clients to identify and utilize those existing strengths and to develop new skills and abilities. We are active participants in the counseling process bringing our knowledge and training in research based approaches and years of experience helping clients make changes in negative thinking patterns, destructive patterns of behavior, and learn to deal effectively with overwhelming negative emotions.
We utilize a variety of counseling approaches in our work including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Behavioral Couples Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.
